Martin and Barbara engaged Kimble Roden’s services to transform their new home, a dated three bedroom house located in a rural setting near Prestbury.
In this project, we inverted the traditional layout, lifting the main living spaces to the first floor, opening them up to expansive rural views and balcony access. Below, bedrooms step into the garden, with glazed openings framing views and drawing in natural light.
This design is shaped by its setting and tailored to the way our clients use the space. Materials and detailing are carefully considered throughout, with a focus on light, proportion and relationship between spaces. Great consideration was given to our clients’ collection of furniture and artwork – ensuring the architecture was a backdrop to the way they lived and enjoyed their home.
By painting the dark brown brickwork white and introducing panels of feature tiles externally and internally we created a whole new aesthetic for their home. Windows were upgraded to white aluminium and floating flat roofs created an entrance canopy and solar shading to the rear master bedroom. Using simple and cost-effective techniques we have truly brought the spaces and the exterior to life.
Martin and Barbara are delighted with their transformed home.
